Passenger Ferry Horizon 9 Collides with Tanker La Digue Near Singapore’s Southern Islands

A collision occurred late Monday afternoon between the Singapore-registered passenger ferry Horizon 9 and the product tanker La Digue, which is controlled by Denmark’s Norden. According to ShipAtlas tacking, the two ships collided just off Singapore’s Southern Islands.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) told Straits Times that the ferry was en route to HarbourFront Centre when the two vessels made contact. Horizon 9 sustained minor damage to its bow above the waterline but remained operational and continued its voyage to port.

The La Digue reported no damage. There were no injuries to passengers or crew and no pollution incidents following the collision. MPA confirmed that vessel traffic and port operations were unaffected and that an investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
