The fire aboard the MV Wan Hai 503 (IMO: 9294862) has been significantly reduced, as firefighting and rescue operations continue under challenging sea conditions.
In coordination with the Indian Air Force, 4,000 kilograms of dry chemical powder (DCP) were air-dropped to combat metal fires still burning onboard. The ship remains safely held away from the Indian coastline, and no oil spills or surface sheens have been reported.
