The Sri Lanka Navy has rescued 14 crew members from the general-cargo ship Integrity Star after it was found drifting approximately 100 nautical miles south of Sri Lanka on October 25, 2025.
A distress call, relayed by a third party, reported engine failure and loss of electrical power onboard the 8,276-dwt vessel, which was built in 2009 and registered in Vanuatu. The Navy deployed the patrol vessel SLNS Samudura to the scene and safely evacuated the crew, who are nationals of India, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.
Following the rescue, the Integrity Star was left abandoned and is now drifting eastward into the Bay of Bengal toward the Andaman Sea. According to ShipAtlas, the ship’s AIS signal shows it departed Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on September 6 and was bound for Suez.
Authorities in Sri Lanka are continuing to monitor the vessel’s movement as it remains adrift.
