How Pareto use ShipIntel in their daily operations

Within the Pareto Group, the Project Finance Shipping team consists of several companies that cover the entire value chain, from financing to operation and sale of shipping and offshore projects.

Project Finance Shipping arranges both equity and debt for project companies, structured as asset plays or long-term contract-based models. Pareto Business Management provides accounting and business management services, while Pareto Maritime Services acts as a technical and commercial advisor for shipping and offshore projects.

Efficient decision-making with ShipIntel

With a portfolio of around 50 vessels, Pareto needed a simple and reliable way to maintain full oversight of its fleet and ongoing projects. Acting as both a financial investor and a lender, the company relies on accurate, real-time information to make informed decisions and manage risks efficiently.

By integrating ShipIntel into their daily workflows, Pareto gained access to up-to-date AIS data and an intuitive interface that made it easier to follow vessel movements, analyze trading patterns, and plan ahead. The platform also supports their work with new projects, helping them review vessel histories and evaluate market activity more effectively.

“We started using ShipIntel in the spring of 2024 to strengthen our access to real-time AIS data and improve our decision-making foundation. The tool was easy to implement and has quickly become a natural part of our workflow,” says Odin Kjærvik, at Pareto Project Finance.

“We manage a portfolio of around 50 vessels, and it’s important for us to maintain continuous control and oversight. ShipIntel gives us valuable insight into fleet movements and operational patterns, essential for both analysis and planning. The platform has also proven useful when evaluating new projects, helping us track vessel trading history and to analyze market trends.”

How Pareto use ShipIntel in their daily operations

Among the most valuable features for Pareto is the real-time AIS tracking, notification functionality, and historical route analysis, tools that make it easier to stay updated and proactive. They also use ShipIntel’s analytic tools, helping them identify trends and opportunities across their projects.

“The most valuable features for us are real-time AIS tracking, notifications, historical route analysis, and the ability to filter vessels based on technical and commercial criteria. We also make good use of the analytic tools, which allow us to study the age of fleets and different trading patterns.”

A collaborative partnership

“Our experience with Maritime Optima has been very positive. They listen to our feedback and continuously improve the platform based on real user needs. We look forward to exploring new features that can provide even deeper insights and efficiency in our work,” Odin Kjærvik concludes.

Pareto’s experience reflects how user input plays a key role in the ongoing development of ShipIntel. The Pareto team and the rest of our customers provide valuable feedback based on their daily use of the platform, helping identify what works well and where improvements can make a real difference.

This exchange of ideas ensures that ShipIntel continues to evolve in ways that support our user’s workflows and meet the practical needs of the shipping industry.
