March - Heading for warmer days

March offered several milestones, one of them being a new sales revenue record, beating our last record with 13%. Also, we released some big news; you can now find ShipIntel Essentials on Microsoft Teams! We will introduce you to this exciting launch later this month.

In addition to this, we have started the hunt for more people to help us grow even further. We have already interviewed several good candidates for the Head of Global Sales vacancy, this important position will work together with the CEO and build presence in countries outside Norway. We are also looking for a Head of Global Marketing, and 3-5 more developers.

📈The user base

ShipAtlas, the best ship tracker there is for individuals interesting in ships, is still growing rapidly and has now close to 400 000 users. With users from more than 190 countries we can confidently say our app is valued all over the world. Most of our users are on mobile (85%), and according to reviews in AppStore and Google Play the users seems to be happy and active.

ShipIntel empowers people working in the maritime industry to achieve more by offering a software where you can make better decisions today with tomorrow's maritime solution. Among other new customers this month, we were happy to welcome Pareto aboard!

ShipIntel offers 2 products: ShipIntel Essentials and ShipIntel Pre-fix. Any company involved in maritime business, be it service & equipment providers, banks, insurance companies or similar, would benefit from the strong features in ShipIntel Essentials.

If you are working with dry cargo, tanker or LPG chartering, you should check out ShipIntel Pre-fix. Customers using ShipIntel Pre-Fix saves hours sorting emails and doing voyage calculation to compare which cargo opportunities gives the highest TCE.

ShipAtlas: Are there any new features or plans coming to ShipAtlas?

ShipAtlas is constantly evolving to provide users with enhanced functionality and new features. Given that, a new purchasable plan is on its way - it will be cheaper than our current offers and will provide more flexibility for our beloved ship trackers. In addition, a lot more new features will be released during 2024, so stay tuned!

ShipAtlas: What features are most popular?

Live AIS Data: View live ship positions updated every 5th minute from satellites and terrestrial senders.

Last & Next Port: Find where ships are coming from and where they are heading with estimated arrival times.

Vessels Nearby Me: Share your position from mobile and find vessels nearby you, within a 10 km radius.

❓ShipIntel: How many members can I have in a team and what is a team in ShipIntel?

There is no limit, you can have unlimited amount of colleagues in a team. Everything your team does, whether it is to create vessel lists, sea routes, add notifications etc. is only visible for you and your team members. Since ShipIntel is Microsoft approved, and if your company is supporting Microsoft Entra Access Control system, you can use Microsoft SSO when signing up and signing in. Your ShipIntel account will then be operated as a part of your company's Microsoft Office 365 Entra protocol. If you want to send something, e.g. a sea route to an external partner, you can quickly do that, and both you and your team will find that you have shared a sea route and with whom.

❓ShipIntel: Can I access ShipIntel on different devices?

Yes! All ShipIntel Essential features are accessible on both laptop and mobiles (Android and iPhones), making it easy for you and your team to always have access to the information you need. If any of you add or change something on a device, the activities are synced between your devices, ensuring you and your team are on the same page, and that everyone has correct and updated information.

You can also use ShipIntel as a part of your Microsoft Teams Subscription.

❓What is a vessel list in ShipIntel?

You can create unlimited numbers of vessel lists in ShipIntel. After you have made a vessel list, you can add more features to your lists like: Live AIS so you know where all the vessels in the lists are right now, where they come from and where they are going. Historical AIS to find where all the vessels in your lists have been trading in the past. In which ports they have been and whether they loaded or discharged. If you want to be notified about the vessels activities, you can add notifications and get alerts (on your mobile as well as on your laptop). You can manage your notifications in a notification center. You can view the vessels in lists, and their live positions in a map, and you can add several lists to your map to compeer where different vessels are just now.
