ShipIntel Essentials

Historical AIS data and the ShipIntel destination prediction model

Study where the vessels have been trading in the past to understand where they will be trading in the future

In ShipIntel you get live AIS data, historical AIS data and a destination prediction model. Historical AIS data gives insight into the vessels' historical trading patterns and the ports they have been visiting. Find historical data attached to all the vessels.

The AIS data is high quality in-house processed AIS data. From satellite, terrestrial and dynamic sources. Global coverage.

Track any type of vessels live, find speed, heading, whether they are in ballast or laden condition, and find where they have been trading in the past.

Find which anchorages and ports they have visited. Find when the vessels arrived and departed, find time they spent waiting at an anchorage or time spent in ports. Find whether the vessels were loading or discharging in the ports.

You can filter, sort and find trading patterns for specific periods of time.

The ShipIntel destination prediction model

While some vessels set a destination, others don't. So we have transformed a master thesis into practical features and developed a predictive model which forecasts where the vessels will sail.

This model's accuracy is evaluated by comparing its prediction with the actual destinations, so it is improved continuously. We are pleased to make this feature available to you and we are committed to continuously enhancing its performance and accuracy.

Since we have an in-house pre-processing AIS pipeline for live as well as historical AIS data, we use this data investment, machine learning algorithms and the in-house built sea route engine, to build models.

So yeah ShipIntel destination model can "predict pretty accurate" what vessels will do in the future.

We call it "Destination predictions".

Find historical trading data, current data, and future predictions for vessel movements. See where vessels have been trading in the past, current positions and speed, where they say they are heading and ShipIntel's destination predictions models.
Tailor-make made your map dashboard with vessels and ports you focus on, ECA zones, war zones, sea ice, weather, country zones and boundaries, canal constraints, sea routes, dynamic lists of vessels, notifications and more.
Find which vessels have been visiting the ports, find expected incoming vessels, ShipIntel predicted arrivals and recent departures. Find when the vessels arrived, how long they stayed at the anchorage or in the port, where they came from, cargo opration in the ports and where they are heading nafter they leave the port.
Create dynamic vessel lists or manually picked vessel list, or have your fleet. Make custom notifications for change in destination, ShipIntel predicted destination, change in speed, xx number of days before they arrive (ETA) a port or course. Get daily emails or instant alerts.
Find the shortest sea routes and compare alternative routes including EU ETS calculations. The sea routes include constraints, ice conditions, carbon emission zones so you can compare and pick the preferred routes. Create routes from vessels' live AIS position to any port, or from port to port.
Build a shared team maritime Contact Book and attach companies and contacts to the vessels they operate, or to ports they are associated with.
Attach documents, technical descriptions, photos and notes to vessels or ports to have quick and easy access to information when you need it. The documents are always synced across your devices and shared inside your team.
