1. Get a quick overview of the supply side

Select the segment (dry cargo, tanker) and sub-segment (Panamax, tankers, etc) you work with and follow them in real-time in the map. You can search for vessels using different criteria or you can create lists of your client's vessels and add them as layer to your map.

Click on any vessel in the map and get info on the vessels last port of call and next port, speed and whether we assume she is laden or in ballast.

2. Discover where specific vessels have been trading in the past

You can access the voyage history of any of the 75.000 vessels since a vessel voyage history log is attached to any vessel.

You can either study each vessel's historical trading pattern visualized in your map, or view the trade in a table.

If your prefer to have the vessels listed, you click on "the vessel voyage history button on the vessel card. Call us or send us an email if you want to export some data.

3. Set up your team fleet and distribute the responsibility for the ships

Start by inviting colleagues to your team. Set up your Team Fleet and assign the commercial responsibility for the vessels to colleagues. Each of you will have access to the fleet you are responsible for in your private list.

You can add your fleet as layers to the map, so you easily can find where they are.

You can quickly do voyage pre-calculations on the vessels in your fleet and compare the TCE results between the vessels in your fleet and you can also add external vessels.

4. Use map layers and study activities in ports

Add the marine weather forecast layer and calculate if you expect delay in the port and when your vessels will arrive.

Use map layers, such as canal congestion, ice conditions or the piracy map. Check the biggest vessels visited the port (measured in LOA, Beam, draft and dwt) and see when it happened.

Marine weather, ice maps and piracy information is updated every 24 hours. You can select and de-select these information layers in your map

Switch to satellite mode: add all vessel segments, capture the port data, berth activities and vessels waiting at anchorage.

5. Check the sea distance and time from any vessel to any port

Use the sea route calculator from your laptop or mobile device and find time and sea distance from any vessel's real-time position to any port. If you need more details, you can add weather, ice, piracy or ECA zones. If you want to add waypoints or adjust the route, you can drag the line (just as you do in Google Maps) and the sea route will re-calculate in seconds.

If you want to calculate the sea distance from any of the vessel’s position to any port to find the deviation time, just click on the vessel and choose the sea route calculator on the vessel card. Drag the line to find the route you prefer (just as you do in Google maps).

The sea route calculator is excellent for cases such as: a vessel is en route to Tubarao, and your broker asks if your vessel can go to Ponta da Madeira instead and when she will be there.

6. Do voyage calculations for a group of vessels and cargoes in seconds  

Select vessels from your fleet and external vessels for your voyage calculations, and the cargoes. By doing this, you will also build your private cargo library.

A workspace is created and you can name it as you like: “Cargill 70 000 mt ex USG” , or “Open positions week 42 in Atlantic”.

New voyage calculations are done automatically while you are adding vessels or cargoes to your workspace. The TCE (USD/day), number of days it takes to perform the voyage, where the vessel will be open, and the cargo emissions are listed, so you can filter as you you like.

If you want give an offer to your broker, click "Give an offer" and a pre-filled in e-mails is made where you can add and edit and click send! A user log will show whom of your brokers have received an offer from you or your colleagues.

7. Create position lists and find vessels within a segment and sub-segment able to reach your laycan

Use the position lists to check which vessels you compete against or which vessels able to reach a specific port to lift your cargo. The position list contains information about when vessels are expected to reach the port.

Clean the list by using information supported by your brokers, your knowhow, your network etc and hide vessels you find not relevant. Add a note/comment on the vessel like: “The vessel is fixed to Shell for on TC, will be open in Rotterdam end Oct” to better remember and understand why the vessel was not interesting for you.
